Level Guidance System
The simpler, count-based way to guide parkers. A level guidance system counts vehicles in and out of every floor and puts the number where the driver can act on it — at the ramp, not after they've already climbed it. Kyosis recommends level guidance, an automated parking guidance system (APGS) or a mix based on each client’s garage, budget and preferences.
How a level guidance system works
A detector at each level's entry and exit lane increments and decrements a running count. A controller aggregates every floor, and LED signs at the ramp and at the garage entrance display live availability.
- Counts per level, per zone, or per section of a level
- Street-entrance signage stops drivers entering a full garage
- Fewest devices per space of any guidance approach, so a lower install and maintenance cost
- Retrofits cleanly — no work required over each individual bay
Best for large flat-plate garages, employee and commuter parking, and any site where the question is “which floor,” not “which space.” Where drivers need to be led to an individual bay, an automated parking guidance system is the better fit.

Level guidance system: common questions
How is a level guidance system different from an automated parking guidance system?
A level guidance system counts vehicles entering and leaving each floor and tells drivers which level has room. It is the simpler system: detection sits at the lanes, nothing is mounted over individual bays, and it needs far fewer devices. An automated parking guidance system (APGS) puts a sensor and indicator light over every bay and tells drivers exactly which space is open.
Which one does my garage need?
It depends on the site and the owner’s preferences. If drivers mainly need to know which floor has room, level guidance does the job at a lower cost. If they circle a floor that has room but can’t see it — long aisles, columns, mixed bay types — per-space guidance is the better fit. Kyosis recommends level guidance, automated parking guidance or a mix after reviewing each client’s garage, budget and goals.
Can a level guidance system be added to an existing garage?
Yes. Because counting detection sits at each level’s entry and exit lanes, no work is needed over individual bays, which makes level guidance one of the easiest parking guidance retrofits.
